The Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce is saddened to learn of the passing of District 4 Metro School Board Representative and Board Chair, Anna Shepherd. Anna was a tireless advocate for public schools, and in particular those schools in the McGavock cluster. She was a board member of the McGavock Cluster Coalition, which seeks to increase the percentage of McGavock High School students graduating with the skills and support necessary to be successful in post-secondary education.
Anna was also an active member of our Chamber. She served as an ex officio member of our Board of Directors, and frequently attended our monthly general membership meetings. We will miss Anna’s warmth, her bright smile, and her enduring passion for improving the lives of the students in our community.
We extend our sincere condolences to Anna’s husband, Larry, and her family.
